My very first "Living Photo Story" I decided some stories are a long process and should be told that way rather than waiting for the end to tell the whole thing. So here goes the first one. For Christmas Kevin and I got an AreoGarden from my parents! I have been itching to try it but the first thing I wanted to grow was starter seeds for my outside garden. However I picked the wrong time to order the starter seed kit needed to convert the AreoGarden so it can grow my seeds and not just their pods, it has been back ordered for weeks. I finally got the kit on Saturday and got it planted on Sunday! I have tomatos and peppers and pumpkins and zucchini and squashes and flowers galore!! I'm very excited and can't stop checking it. Since the plants get 16 hours of direct sunlight and constant nutrients they grow faster. And since there are blinking lights to tell me when the water is low or they need more nutrients I shouldn't end up killing them till I move them outside. We shall see how this all goes!

50 Hour Update

Woke up this morning and OMG my sprouts are growing already. I checked the packages and most say either 5-10 days or 10 - 15 days for germination. A morning glory was the first to sprout followed quickly by a butternut squash and a pumpkin. 6 of the 64 seeds planted are now showing signs of sprouting and another 5 or so are shows tiny thread like roots beginning to grow. Too Exciting.

Time Lapse

Time Lapse - Kevin and I are such kids sometimes. We got so excited this morning that we set up a time lapse system with a video camera taking a shot evey 4 minutes. I can't wait to see the results! - Photo by Rachel Lea Fox
